Greg,
Never got a chance to finish post, danged PC blipped off and it sent
the message before got to edit it.

Refer to www.nj7p.org/tube.php for specs on each.  8950 was designed
for RF applications so has  some different characteristics. Of course you
will need to change sockets, etc.

8950/s show up now and then on eBay, often you can pick up a used
CB "liniker" in garge sales that have a pair in them.

Hope haven't confused anyone.
