[Boatanchors] Hallicrafters SX-62 Slipping Dial

For what it is worth; if you sprayed a cleaning solution that contained a
lubricant on the chassis, or any part thereof, you may have gotten some of
it on the dial cord. Easy to do, and the lubricant often results in cord
slippage. Use a cotton swab and Isopropyl alcohol to clean the lubricant off
the dial cord. Where possible, space being the issue, a small gauze pad
works well too.

If the dial cord has been replaced previously by persons unknown, they may
have used something with a very poor coefficient of friction as dial cord to
begin with.

There is a wealth of dial cord fixes in the Hallicrafters and Boat Anchors
archives OM! Go to the HHI web site:
www.w9wze.net

>From the home page select the archives and then do a sort for "dial cord" or
whatever. You may be surprised by the dozens of clever fixes stored there.
Good luck.
