I don't recognize the "4SR1A1" nomenclature. I do own a GE YRS-1 
Sideband Selector and have operating instructions and a complete manual 
for it.

There was an article on a very similar device in GE Ham News for 
November-December 1948. There was also an article titled "Single Signal 
  Single-Sideband Adaptor by EW Rosentreter published in Electronics 
magazine July 1948 and reprinted in "Electronics Manual for Radio
Engineers" by Zeluff & Markus.  An article from a GE employee describing 
a related device was in CQ magazine for June 1957.
