The CX-301 is nothing more than a 101, 201, 01, etc.  The 01A which has a much lower filament amperage will work fine.

Apparently the tubes used in the Federal Radio that i asked for help with an id for are cx-301 types.  Does that mean they are actually a 301?  Don't know that i've seen a number like that referenced to before.
