There have been a couple of good articles in Electric Radio as well.

No, it wasn't a 75A-3, or an R-4C, but it was considerably better than 
many of it's contemporaries with regard to stability and sensitivity.  
It's an excellent AM receiver, without the pinched IF and Audio stages 
of the A-3 or others that were beginning to climb on the SSB bandwagon 
about then.
