Oh man.......Bob you just brought back a memory of long ago.....
When I was in the U. S. Army I had to fix the ol' ANTCC-7 N-CXR systems with
an ear banger, screwdriver and a piece of wire.
I dunno how I did it....but I did it.
That ability came in handy later at good ol' Maw Bell and NORTEL.
Now....all that is becoming a dim memory as well.

It's like we did on the flightline in the 50's. We switched out BLACK BOXES
and the Field Maintenance shop replaced the bad part which was generally a
tube. I don't remember having to change a resistor or capacitor except as
part of a TO mod. Then we had to do it with a 200W American Beauty soldering
iron and a pair of "Lineman's" pliers!
