[Boatanchors] Viking Ranger or Hammarlund HX-50, which to use for AM?

Hi Darrell,
I'm sure there are other opinions, but here's my quick take on it -- The
Ranger was built for AM, it's plate modulated. The HX-50 was built for SSB,
and is not plate modulated, can't remember the exact method, but probably
clamp tube or screen mod. Ranger will give ~ 60w imput on AM, HX-50 maybe
15w.
Bottom line, no contest, use the Ranger.
