[Boatanchors] Cloth covering for cables

Does anyone have a source or a idea for what to use for replacing the brown 
cloth covering used on cables like the type of cable that runs from the 
receiver to the power supply on the really OLD radios? It is woven and looks 
like the braid on RG-8, only cloth.

I am not sure if this 'covering' was a sleeve or it was just the covering 
for the cable.

The size I need is 3/8" - 7/16" I.D.

Any suggestions/ideas will be appreciated!
