This may help anyone who are prone to making stupid mistakes like me, hi! I
put a new dial on my DX-100 and forgot to tighten the shaft screw, you know
what happened, the dial got out of alignment. The dial mark before 7.0 MHz
is supposed to be straight up with the plates of the VFO variable cap
closed. I started trying to align it with the dial out of position and no
dice. I had read in several places about how inaccessable, hard etc. the VFO
was to get at. All I did was take off the front panel and take off the nuts
that hold the VFO housing down to the chassis under the chassis and the VFO
housing came up enough to see the variable cap. I also saw that someone had
never screwed one of the lug strips down inside the housing. I fixed that
and lined up the dial, not that hard, a little time consuming but even easy
for a rookie.
