My only experience with Svetlana has been the 3 4CX800 tubes in my
homebrew amp which have been entirely trouble free. I have also not
heard any negatives about Svetlana in "internet land" although I am sure
there have been other failures. However, I think that the Svetlana
tubes in general have a well deserved reputation for good quality and I
hope that your 811A failure was a fluke. Have you checked the solder
connections on the socket and then also the tube pins themselves. If
the socket is good (try switching the tubes between sockets) then I
would try reheating the cathode pins to see if perhaps the original
solder joint is bad.
