I don't know about transmitter tubes but I'm a bass player and use 6550's in 
large quantities and have always found them to be very good tubes.
I have three bass amps which each use 6 6550's at a high plate voltage and 
they last years for me,

Hello everybody. I welcome some information.

  Could someone give an evaluation of Svetlana tubes in general
and Svetlana 811A's in particular as compared with other
manufacturers?

  A friend gave me two 811A's, NIB, and I tested both in my
tester. One was strong as a tornado. The other had a very dull
filament glow for about 30 seconds, and then fizzled out dead to
the world. I am puzzled by its purchase of the farm.
