It's the SSB mate for the Scratchy Apache, but can be made to work
with some tinkering. They're interesting, but not terribly practical
since you can get any number of SSB transmitters from that era that
will sound better (CE 100/200V, HT-37, etc).
Your DX-100 deserves a life of leisurely AM....
