Your attitude is sad.

I've seen literally hundreds of ham-hacked sets for sale at flea markets and on
eBay. They rarely bring even 1/10th of what unmolested sets bring. The majority
wind up as scrap. So much for 'improving' the radios with often ill-conceived or
poorl;y engineered mods.
