We use Puppy Linux here - PDF files are read and printed using
an app called Ghostview.

When Print is selected all of the items in the page list are
automatically highlighted by default - one clicks on the list
and then only those deliberately selected are printed.

It has been a while since I used the Adobe app in a Microsoft
version of windows but I imagine the same is true there.
