Gents:

Anyone have experience with the above tube rig that consists of a two
panel assembly
in a short 2.5' rack (RF deck and PS deck)?

These were used by Navy (maybe others) as their first SSB set prior
to the intro of
the Collins URC-32. Final uses three 6146s.

My first ship had one in CIC (combat information center) until 1960
until replaced
by a URC-32 after a shipyard period.

I have restored/rebuilt one and have questions about the ARCO mica
trimmers used
in the Pi-net output. (antenna side of the Pi-net) Mine had them removed but I
still get 180 watts out which is more than the spec! The manual
shows some hefty
capacity values on these trimmers (up to 3500 pf!) and it would be
unusual to run
a Pi-net without any output capacity anyway! (feeding 50
ohms). Sorry Ma, no Pi(e)? :-)

Any info or SSB-1 stories appreciated.

Or is this 175 lb BA some "rare" white-elephant?

Tnx
