I have to agree with all those who have posted. I only wish I had the
cash to purchase one of those a for mentioned rig's. So I will go the
next best route. while doing a little web searching I came across a
simple four tube 80/160 AM transmitter article. It use's 6AQ5's for the
oscillator, PA, and Modulator. The push-pull modulator is driven by a
matching transformer with a low Z input. My guess is that the original
design was to put it on the AM BCB, way else would you drive the audio
section with a CD player ?. So I will add a first audio stage and have a
nice little home brew rig to start with. It should put out five or so
watts, just enough to play around with, till I can get some thing else.
As soon as the weather breaks I can get the sloper up and see what we can
hear.
