[Boatanchors] Need suggestions and question on antenna for DX-100

Howdy Bob,
I run several DX-100s, and use a E.F. Johnson 1 KW matchbox, also use
from time to time the 250 watt Matchbox. My rigs are A) running off of a
0-130 VAC variac, with the input to the DX-100 set at 115 VAC in standby
the variacs I use are the auto transformer type, so xmit leaves the AC input
at 115.

As for power output, into the dummy load at 115 VAC and tuning per the
manual
the output of my rigs is right at 150 watts. Antenna is a 153 foot longwire,
end fed
from the KW matchbox. It works, straight-forward, I would suggest a heavy
duty tuner either Commercial or Homebrew. I keep a wattmeter in the line at
all times to monitor FWD/REV power and check for things like ice build-up.

Of course as always YMMV.

"110 watts out on 10 AM, and still running!"
