Jim provided some excellent advice and one more item to add is that be careful when testing and aligning your CE 10B because
some 6AG7 tubes do not like being operated in the horizontal position as I found out when I restored an CE-20A. Everything
was going well in the alignment department till the output suddenly dropped and I noticed the rectifier plates glowing red. The
direct cause was a short developed in a 6AG7 and I later found a caution elsewhere about horizontal operation problems of
these tubes. The indirect cause was a 20 amp line fuse installed in my "mint condition, recently restored" transmitter.
Fortunately no lasting damage was done and now checking the value of the installed fuse is one of the first things I do before
powering up new to me equipment.
