Dick,
My post was in response to the person whom sent the original message
questioning another ham that could not tell him how far off the Collins
PTO was from exact calibration.
Then following it up with wonder if he got his license out of a cereal box.
1 - It is a receiver - NOT - a transmitter. Therefore NOT required to
be exact to legally operate.
2 - Precision of calibration devices in an Amateur Radio station/shack
is NOT specified in CFR Part 97.
Only requirement is that your signal be within the band limits
established by the regulation AND your license class.
That is what I was *trying* to get the original poster to *THINK*
about. This hobby is *NOT* based on HIS perception/interpretation of
Part 97 of the CFR - it *IS* based purely on Part 97 of the CFR!
I just do it within *THAT* framework.
