Don't use any kind of solvent on them. Don't use 409 on them.

I used 409 on a HR-10 chassis and the lettering all came off.

Try soaking them in a dishpan for a while. after getting as much off that
way put it in the dishwasher!

I need to get the HR-10 chassis replated.

Subject: [Boatanchors] cleaning chassis

I was given two heathkit dx60's and 1 hg10 vfo and was
wOndering what one uses to clean the chassis. The
front panel and knobs are very good shape as also the
cover but the chassis has a lot oF dirt and crud on
them. so my question is what do most of you use to
clean up the metal chassis before i restore them.
Thanks for the bandwidth.
