Larry -

When I was in electronics school, we had mounted on each work position
one of those architect-type lamps with the crane arm. Instead of a
regular lamp, it held a large maginifying lamp with a fluorescent ring
around the inside. Clamps to the edge of your desk or bench, swings
around where you need it, leaves both hands free. I never picked one
up for myself but still plan to, someday. They used to be $75 or so,
but I'm sure have come down a lot, maybe $20-$30 or less.
