I work for Turner Broadcasting/CNN at one of their satellite uplinks and I wouldn't think of working on anything on the bench without a magnifier light as your link showed!! Especially on the equipment with surface mounted parts.

> While learning how to work on boatanchors, it seems I am unsatisfied with the lighting on my bench which is currently supplied by a simple flexible neck desk lamp. Sees there is never a good place to put it and wherever I do put it, my head seems to cast a shadow right where I need the light.
