[Boatanchors] 2A3 Tube Price

I was going through my stock of tubes and found quite a few NOS 2A3 
tubes.  I looked at what they were selling for on on the famous auction 
site and almost had a stroke!  I'm assuming that audiophiles are using 
them in audio amps.   My question is :  What make them so great for 
audio service and why is the price so high?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining.  I am no longer so concerned 
about my measly retirement check!  I've never sold anything on the 
auction site, but my time may be drawing nigh.
