It does if you reset to the proper voltages.
My BC-610(I) has a separate variac control
directly to the HV transformer, then you remove
the back cover and readjust the bias to the 250TL
then fire it up and test it, they do indeed work in the BC-610.
No Myth, No Magic, just the spec sheets and the tubes.
