We've been down this path before.

That TTY was restricted to all caps is an undisputed historical fact.
That people today use modern qwerty keyboards via ASCII and html is also 
undisputable.
That the military also uses these modern devices seems to come as an 
incredibly rude shock to some of us.

Wake up. Move with the times, rather than against them.
