Gang,
For what it's worth, in telegraph, radiotelegraph, teletype and
radioteletype communications the typewriters and
teleprinters had only UPPER CASE letters!
The "Telegraph Mill" is what the typewriter was called by us commercial
radiotelegraph operators. The term,
"Mill" was because that is where we worked. These machines had no lower case
letters at all. I have three
telegraph mills.
Statements that uppercase letters are SHOUTING is only the opinions of some
who are obviously unaware of
earlier communications history.
