Gerry,

HS-33 and HS-38 are both 600 ohm headsets (+/-).  They differ only in that 
HS-33 includes headband HB-7, and HS-38 does not (it was used in flight and 
tanker helmets).  Both use two Receiver ANBH-1, nominally 300 ohms.

Low was anything between 600 and 250 ohms.  Hi was 8000 or above.  MC-385 
will allow you to use Headset HS-33 in a radio set up for HS-23.
