[Boatanchors] LOOKING FOR FEW PARTS & TUBES

Well I found a reference:
http://www.mif.pg.gda.pl/homepages/frank/short/054/5/501.pdf
The 6E5GT is an international type that is indeed a 6.3 volt octal tube, =
not
the same as an American 6E5. It looks like a 6X6 is in the picture too, =
but
I haven't quite figured out how to read this reference.

Paste the above link into your browser and good luck.

I thought I had some 6U5GT's but turned out they were all 6U6GT (a 6V6GT =
lookalike).
But to correct a previous statement, GT doesn't mean octal base, =
although=20
most if not all of the tubes that it applies to are. It defines the =
shape
of the=20
glass bulb as being straight (parallel) sided to differentiate the =
earlier G
bulb, which flares out from bottom to near the top. Octal tubes with=20
nomenclatures without any alpha suffix are metal octals. Then came the
glass G's,=20
then the smaller GT's and finally alphabet soup. Some metal octals have
alpha=20
suffixes, but none beginning with "G". Some octal tubes first appeared =
as
G's=20
(like the 5U4G) and some as GT's (like the 6SL7GT and 6SN7GT). In which
case=20
there is no metal version. So if there is (and I'm sure, despite =
Jacks's=20
wife's comments) that if he says he has one there is, an octal 6 volt =
magic
eye=20
tube, it has to have a G or GT suffix. Be difficult to see the eye
otherwise! =20
Wonder what the extra element might be in a 6X6GT?
