[Boatanchors] Wrinkle finish cleaning and restoration

I've been using GoJo for years. The "white" version is the good stuff,
the "orange" is the abrasive type. It's a little grittier than pumice.
Orange is good for cleaning a bare chassis, or anything else that can
stand a little light "rubbing compound" treatment.

The "oily residue" is Lanolin, to keep your hands soft....... It's also
what gives a wrinkle finish that nice, "new" look after treatment.
Fortunately it's just a little oily, and will wash off with detergent
and water, unlike things like "Armor-all" (sometimes recommended for
this purpose) which contain silicones, which DO NOT COME OFF easily and
which paint WILL NOT stick to.

That could be a problem if it turns out that it needs a light color re-coat if the cleaner doesn't do the trick. Not sure how you can degrease the surface without attacking the paint, if it came to that.
