Joe-
Look for two 6-32 Phillips head screws on the side of the can.  These 
screws are threaded into studs swaged to a circuit card inside the 
can.  The screws may be corroded, and if they are, the studs may spin loose 
in the circuit card.  When this happens, you must grind the head of the 
screw off with a mototool. (I've had to do this.)  Next time, I plan to put 
several drops or penetrating oil around each screw head several days before 
I try to remove the screw. When you have removed the two screws, the can 
lifts off.
