To All-

When I was ten years old (1960) my parents purchased a
battery operated Emerson AM radio for me. I v vividly
remember the plastic case being part ivory and part
green. The main AM tuning dial was in the front middle
top area. Being vacuum tube type it of course used a
combination of the now expensive B plus, etc.
batteries.

Why am I mentioning this? I was living in my hometown
of Passaic, New Jersey (about ten miles west of NYC).
Emerson's main production facility was in Jersey City,
New Jersey (about 30 miles south). Their incinerator
stack was near the Pulaski Skyway (elevated highway),
routes 1, 9 and 35. At night I remember seeing their
incinerator stack lit up along it's length with a
green neon sign "Emerson".

If there are any Emerson collectors, restorers out
there I would like you to e-mail me privately, off
list. Just checking interest in Emerson products and
history.

Thanks.
