[Boatanchors] Soldering

Bob:

This may be a discontinued model? I went to a Weller site and found no
mention of the TCP-1.

What wattage is the TCP-1, and what tip do you use?

The reason I ask is that there are several models on the Weller site that
appear to be what I'm looking for, in a variety of wattages, and with a
large variety of available tips.

I use a Weller temp-controlled iron, TCP-1, that
I've had since the 1960's. With the large, 800°
tip, it will do a PL-259 quite well. It will even
solder to a chassis with a little effort. It's far
better than a 250 watt gun for transferring heat to
the joint.
