If you can, buy a 100-150W gun or if you can find one, a plain ole
100-150w soldering iron.

I have an old 150W iron, has about 1/2 inch diameter tip of solid
copper, can heat up chassis to flow solder very fast.   Also use
"big Berta" a 250W iron with a very large tip that was used to repair
radiators.  Works wonders on old steel chassis radios.

Now some solder stations work well, our Weller TCP station can be
loaded with a large tip, is only good for a short time.  Can do PL259
connetors, but that is about it.
