Hi Russ & Gang,
Well, after much tracing after I was able to download the manual from BAMA
and
learning a lot about the intrument would you believe the problem was so
simple
I couldn't see the forrest for the trees in the way! The probe was open!
The previous owner had put a BNC chassis connector for the R.F. probe. The
male cable connector had come loose from the inner conductor of probe cable.
Now I have a rather loud hum. I haven't checked the two electrolytic yet, a
10 and a 30 mfd in a can.
My thanks to Walt, W2OKF, for giving me the address for the manual. I have
connected with BAMA but never able to get past the "search". When I entered
the name of the unit, I always got "not found". Walt gave me the individual
address of that particular manual and it worked. I downloaded the manual OK.
My thanks to all who responded to my call for help!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
Take care,
Ken N5CM
