Hi Doc,

The N.R.I. correspondence course dates way back into the 30's I am sure,
maybe as far back as the 20's.
A good friend of mine took the course in the 40's and later opened the first
radio/tv shop in my home town. He acquired both the Signal Tracer and
their NRI Professional R.C. Tester. (Tests resistors and capacitors).
I moonlighted at his shop and got to really like those two instruments.
Luckily, I was able to find one of each in more recent years.

The signal tracer is "dead" and I am having trouble finding the cause. The
speaker is the "electro magnetic type" with the speaker magnetic force
provided by the choke of the power supply. A hum bucking winding is
included to cancel out hum in the speaker. These windings are in addition
to the conventional voice coil winding.

I am open to suggestions - if anyone has had experience with the unit and
can give me tips, I will appreciate!
Take care,

Ken N5CM
