Amen to that- I have an FH5 here at present that has had someone 
totally screw up the 40 MHz filter-still trying to sort it. For some 
reason these filters seem to attract incompetence like flies to a jam 
jar.

Todd's comments in a previous post are all true, but a working RA17 
really is great to use.

(the FH5 is a dual channel version of the RA17 -it was used for 
maritime HF DF and also in a slightly different form as a dual 
diversity rx.)
