Roger, There is a spring loaded collar on the shaft of the oscillator tuning
control.
Open the lid and look at the dial scales to the right. Push the collar
forward toward
the front of the panel. Slide the dial scale assy to the right and pull it
out of it's
cradle on the right and then on the left. The dial scale change knob marked
band
on the left will pull to the right moving the shaft to the left to allow the
dial scale
assy to move out of its cradle. Once the dial scales are removed you can get
fingers
on each side of the lamps to turn them. It is not easy but quite do able as
I have done
it before. Just takes a bit of time. But much less time and stress than
pulling the front
panel.
Of course be careful with the dial scales. You can remove them before
removing the
drum if you like but I have never had to do that.

Hi,

Anyone had experience in changing the two dial lamps on the HRO-50T
receiver? I can't see any reference to doing this, either in the manual or
the Sams and I've a nasty feeling that the whole cabinet has to come off to
do the job!

73,

Roger Basford/G3VKM
