Hi Roger,
In the USA, I have had good luck with Sears Craftsman tools. The set
I use are deep sockets which include the 1/2 and 9/16 sizes that
match the hex nuts for controls and phone jacks. If the control
shafts are not overly long, the deep sockets work well.
Look up Craftsman socket set SAE 34781 on Google. I bought mine for
$10 during a Christmas sale a couple of years ago. I see where they
are charging $20 when not on sale.
I also have a full nut driver set for both metric and SAE sizes.
It's also by Sears Craftsman. (and a small plier set, long nose,
side cutter, etc.). All bought during the Christmas sales. Why
Craftsman? Lifetime warranty. I have returned and had replaced a
1/4 inch nut driver that I wore out (rounded a bit inside from
serious use.) as well as a couple of their Philips screwdrivers that
I abused a bit.
No connection to Sears other than as tool and appliance user. Don't
know if they ship to UK.

Rich
