A few thoughts here.
Since rigs were designed this way to match then-current antennas, a
study of the Antennas chapter in a Handbook of appropriate year would
probably tell us what the design antenna impedances were like. I have
seen various formulas and nomographs in the Handbooks for calculating
the turns, etc, for link coupling, but never 'inverted' the question to
see what sort of antennas were being matched.
Smith Charts were invented to do the kind of R/L/C/transmission-line
operations that you would like to play with here. You can start with the
(known) antenna impedance, work back through a (known) length of 300 ohm
transmission line, and see what you are looking into at the shack end.
You can also look at the AC/Network analysis capabilities of circuit
simulation packages. Email me off list for a suggestion of where to get
