[Boatanchors] Link coupled output?

I've seen all kinds of math and tuner 'devices' on the Internet associated
with antenna tuner circuitry...great stuff.
I have yet to find anything that can take my estimated C1 and C2 capacitances
and inductance value - based upon the variable capacitor's geometry and the
variable inductor's geometry at the low SWR "match"- and provide some
enlightening information on impedance at the input/output.
It would appear rather simple, to put a 50 ohm dummy load at the antenna side
- adj. for low SWR - and calculate the input ( transmitter ) impedance
knowing C1, C2 and L values. - right?
Or visa versa..knowing that our contemporary rigs are designed for 50
ohms...one can just as easily? know the antenna-side impedance at the shack.
Am I missing something in this thinking?
