[Boatanchors] Link coupled output?

Thinking some more about this, it might be possible to
turn the antenna tuner around putting the normal
"output" of the tuner on the input from the
transmitter. Then put an SWR bridge between what
would normally be the input of the antenna tuner and a
dummy load. Adjust the tuner for a 1:1 SWR on the
bridge.

Then measuring the impedance of the tuner might give
the impedance of the transmitter. A "roundabout" way
of doing things, but that does have a possibility of
giving the proper value.

Well, I certainly have no idea what I am talking
about, but if I were faced with this problem, I might
try to transmit into an antenna with an antenna tuner
and SWR meter. Set the tuner to arrive at 1:1 swr.
Then I would try to use some kind of impedence
measuring device and look down the tuner/antenna to
see what its impedence is. Since I know the match was
1:1 then the transmitter's impedence must be the same. No?
