[Boatanchors] UPS Shipping

I can vouch for what Glen is saying about the Mesquite Hub of UPS. They are
the nastiest, laziest and most worthless group of UPS people I have ever
dealt with.

I was in charge of the Motorola shop that maintained their pagers and radios
for over 4 years. As a shop manager I made the switch from UPS to Fedex in
1985 because of a combination of the problems Glen mentioned and cost.
Fedex offered to match or beat the price and gave the packages much better
treatment.

One of the bad things about UPS is they do not hire managers outside of the
company. So your driver may be your facility manager is a few years and a
regional manager even later. Union mentality.

The thing about Mouser is they tell you they won't provide assurance your
package will arrive unless you use UPS. If they use UPS they will guarantee
delivery to you personally. If you use USPS or Fedex and the package is
lost, it is on you. Poor way to do business and that is my only complaint
about Mouser.
