[Boatanchors] UPS Shipping

One of the problems is that the USPS says 2 to 3 days
for priority mail and it definitely takes that from
Fort Worth to Dallas. UPS does get the shipment
delivered over night even though they "tear up" a lot
of the packages. Fortunately Mouser packs things well
enough that they usually make it even though the box
is in shambles.

However, sometimes I get a package that has been
resealed with UPS tape that is missing some, if not
all, of the parts. If some are missing they are
usually the more expensive ones. Mouser always
replaces the missing items without any problem. But
you can tell that the box was properly sealed at
Mouser and "somewhere" between Mansfield, Texas (south
side of Fort Worth) and Richardson, Texas (north side
of Dallas) that the box had been opened and certain
things removed. Mouser usually puts individual
packages in a separate plastic bag and that bag shows
evidence of being opened.

I usually "grin and bare it" on the shipments from
Mouser via UPS because the parts normally make it
fine. However, today the box was in such bad shape
that it just "hit me wrong"! I did call in the order
about 8:00 PM yesterday evening. If you can get your
order in to Mouser before around 9:00 PM you have a
very good chance that it will go out in their 11:00 PM
UPS pickup. Since I am basically "local" I usually
get the shipment the next business day.

If you are buying a small quantity of parts you cannot
beat USPS Priority Mail.
