[Boatanchors] D-104 Elements

Mouser has a crystal microphone element that works
quite well in the D-104.  It is smaller in diameter
than the original and you have to use something like
styrofoam to hold the cartridge in place.  However,
the price is $3.52 in single quantities.  The audio
reports that I get with this cartridge versus one of
the last cartridges that came from Astatic (like a
week before they discontinued making the parts) are
considerably better than the original Astatic
cartridge (and I get good reports with the Astatic
cartridge).  The part number is 25LM022 (the "0" is a
zero and not the letter "o").

Mouser has no minimum order for the United States,
Mexico, or Canada.  You can find them at
