On a related subject, can anyone recall a similar article for any receiver
using one of the octal based converter tubes like the 6/12SA7 or 6/12K8?
Likewise for using something like a 1N34 or 1N914 in place of a 6/12H6 in a noise
limiter, AGC rectifier or 2nd Detector circuit. I have a bunch of noise limiter
modification kits for the TCS receivers, and had thought for years that it
would be a neat trick to add a product detector with them.
