[Boatanchors] RATSHACK?

That's of course because there isn't enough amateur radio "roots" business
to make it worth their while.

RatShack is easy to take potshots at -- I do it myself, frequently :-)  I
also buy stuff there from time to time because I'll occasionally be
surprised and find something I need.

I do long for the days when I could walk into Radio, Inc. in Tulsa with a
list of stuff from some Handbook or QST construction article, and walk out
with a bag of every onezy-twozy inductor, variable cap, ceramic switch, RF
choke, transformer, socket and other items I needed.  Nothing left like that
any more, anywhere.  Not to mention the room loaded with every new and
pre-owned radio imaginable -- always had a problem with drool when I was in
there :-)
