Hi All
I want to calibrate my TV7-U tester and want to know
how much of a differance in voltage reading would I
get using a 1000 ohm/volt mster (called for and dont
have) vs a simson 260 @ 20000 ohm/volt meter. I have
seen this a lot with the older receivers also
Mike
Mike, it will make a difference.
However, use what you got and you will be OK.
Tube testers are relative type test.
The 20,000 ohm/volt will not load the TV7 like 1000 volt meter so voltages
will
be a bit low. Your meter does not load so you will set the voltage exact.
The 1,000 volt meter loads, so you set the voltage and remove the meter.
The unloaded circuit now has a higher voltage.
This is OK, if you have a tube right on the go / nogo line, are you going to
use it? This being the relative part of tube testing.
