[Boatanchors] Viking II

At a recent swapmeet I came across a Johnson Viking II in so-so condition
(some rust, cabinet bent, missing tubes, dirty) but definitely restorable
and recently found a 122 VFO for it. This unit looks interesting since it
has a roller inductor which should be readily useable on the WARC bands.
Looks like a nice way to get on AM/CW with a well built Johnson rig
(ceramic tube sockets, quality construction, quality
switches/inductors/variables, nice TVI shielding, etc). 

Anyone use one on the air and what do you think of it ? Any "necessary
mods" ?
