Both of those are roughly the same vintage (late 60s and mid 70s). They are almost completely discrete transistor units and fairly easy to repair. The extra BW is not really significant, IMO.  The A models are
generally better than the non-As.  If you want to go to a bit newer scope, look for a 465A or B. I think the higher BW scopes are more failure prone, due in part the a higher HV for the CRT. I know that the 485 can
be a bear.
