[Boatanchors] Here's a vintage stumper..

Hi all ( again ):

I've put away the electronic TR Switch.

I have an issue of larger importance - my modulator power supply is causing
line noise? that sounds like a Geiger counter in 'fast count'...not a typical
60 or 120 cycle hummmmm.

The power supply use 2 x 1616's to power the 2x807 for my 1948 rack rig.

The 1616's rectifiers have top plate caps...and when I disconnect one certain
specific lead/cap - call it A - the noise stops...the other lead/cap - B -
causes no noise...whichever of the two tubes I use.

Both plate lead/caps are at either end of the same power transformer
secondary, naturally.

For some reason...the one specific lead/cap - A - generates the
noise...using either of the two 1616's...the other lead/cap - B - does NOT generate the
noise using either of the two 1616's.

Again...the only difference is which end of the tranformer secondary the
lead/caps are connected.

Interestingly, the center tap of the transformer secondary has the filter
circuit...and is used for the B+...the filament voltage leads are only connected
to the 1616 filaments - period.

Ever hear of such a problem??

Regards,
Steve
